dashboard light meaning?

Got a couple of warning lights in dash of the Mercedes. One is a bulb blown warning but the other is confusing me. It's on the left side if the dash under the bas/asr light. Yellow colour and its a picture of a steering wheel with a wavy line under it. Thought it may be power steering level low warning but the level is maximum on the bottle under bonnet with no sensor in sight. It's a 1998 Mercedes e200 estate. Any help appreciated. Google is next to useless! Thanks

The nearest thing I can find to the symbol you describe is tyre pressure or steering wheel lock not working.  Have you got a picture of the telltale in question?  That might help.

Can't upload pics as on my phone. Can't find it on Google either. No tyre pressure sensor on this, bit old for it I think and steering lock works. It's not on any pdf manual I downloaded either.

Thought it may be power steering. Mine is the model with electronic key but no display in the dash. Not too worried as all levels are fine. Just wondering where the bloody sensor is!

In my Mercedes, when I switch on the lights, a yellowy-orange lamp starts to flicker on the dashboard, that looks like a 3-year-old is drawing the sun, i.e. a circle with rays around it. At the upper right hand corner, I can see the numeral 1, like an exponent.

WTF???? Nuclear blast imminent, or what?

Not same as that tiff, warning is yellow in our car too. Steering wheel is electric too on ours. Junkman is it an overdrive warning light same as old volvos had? Ours has the 5 speed autobox and no lights like that.

Very true. Especially on older cars with low level warnings and bloody sensors everywhere! Don't think a low level warning is an mot failure under new mot laws is it? Id have thought if it was a lot of folk be failing due to fuel level

How the hell should I know?

What would overdrive have to do with the lights switched on?

How you described it sounded like the old Volvo overdrive switch what illuminated a lamp on dash sorry

I've git that lamp on too. Brake bulb out in drivers side on our car

I think you'll need to get us a photo of this lamp, chief. I had a W210 E320, and the light below the ABS light on mine was the BRAKE lamp (red) with the ASR lamp below it being the very bottom one.

Ahh mine as srs in red then Abs/bas then Abs warning both in yellow then this steering wheel light with wavy line in yellow. Can't upload pics but can email them as I on my phone

I'm sure this is power steering. The switch/'float or whatever  may be stuck. I just checked the owners manual and that's all I can see

I like "snake warning"!! Pretty sure its level low warning now. Will give bottle a bang in morning. Hesitation on initial pull off now and can't get no more than 18mpg. Goin to "borrow" a maf from local scrappy I think!

Exterior lamp PHALUR. Weird. Most of them work

.Some German barges have a self test type thing-the light comes on til you hit the brakes for the first time after starting up.

On these, they all mean the same thing: it's fucked.
