Anyone have any use for a set of 16" Toyota alloys?

Got these for the tyres they had on. They're off a Supra of some kind, decent condition but a bit of lacquer bubbling. I've been told they're "worth" £50-60 but, to help the cause of shite and save me from e-bay mongs, if anyone can use them, you can have them for a token £20. I'm in central Sheffield.

Pitchers to follow tonight.

Luxo, how TF have you managed 1500 posts in six months? You have too much time on your hands!

Anyhooo, these should fit a RAV4 shouldn't they. Anyone know for sure?

I have been asked to look out for a spare set to fit snow tyres on. (Early) RAV4s all have 16" rims as standard. However I've been trying to work out if they have enough clearance over the calipers for 15s, 15" wheels are cheaper, as are the tyres, and much more widely available. And generally better in tough conditions.

I've asked the owner to see if he can get his fingers in between the caliper and the rims, he's not come back to me. He's in Whitby, I'm in the Dales, two corners of Yorkshire far from your own...

Hmmm.

The joys of unemployment, though I guess that a few hundred of them were in the locking wheelnut thread and the 'can't find an LPG car' one.

According to www.wheelfitment.eu, the RAV4 PCD is 5*114.3 as opposed to 5*114 for the Supra. Identical centre bores of 60.1. I know bugger all about wheels, but it does sound like you can swap them.

It may be because he's still there with his fingers stuck in between the caliper and the rims

LOL @ Alf!

Some sites quote 114mm, others 114.3mm for each, it is 114.3, but many people don't bother typing the ".3" .

The offset is just as important as PCD and bore, but from what I've seen yes, they should fit.

Sheffield though...

I'll ask my dad to talk to his mate (RAV4 man). I know you want a pain-free cash sale, but would you pack 'em for a courier?

Luxo, I've just spoken to him, he'll have them please, he will collect with cash, no problems, pm coming soon...

That's fab! Autoshite to the rescue once again.

You have a PM.

I 've taken a pic on my mobile, may post it a bit later.

Could be he's still trying to figure out how to hammer on a socket after hearing from Luxo how to accomplish the task

OT but who cares, we saved the wheels!

Bloody benefits tourists

The most annoying thing is that I have never gotten a penny in benefits because I am perpetually scared that something will go seriously wrong (as in dictatorship/borders closing/EU exit) with Greece and I will need to apply for British citizenship which is nigh on impossible to get if you've ever been on benefits (unless of course you're an official refugee/asylum seeker). I'm a bit like a long-term tourist fullstop. I should probably try looking for a job in Aruba- I'll still be as unemployed as I am now, but at least I'll get a tan out of it.
