Peugeot 203's seem to be extinct. Don't know how common they were here, but even in the 90's there were still quite a few in Western Australia :)

They were never common, but there are a few over here. Have seen a couple come up for sale just this year and at least one of them is a right-hooker. If anything, the 403 is even rarer, but again, I know there are at least a couple.

I think that kind of demonstrates that HML is not infallible! It does rely on DVLA information of course...

Might be a mission to find it, I saw a silver XL at Morrisons Kirkstall last year, driven by an old giffer, so I think it's in Leeds! Did look pretty ropey though!

Really? I am on a misson to find it now. MASSIVE WANT!

I'm prepared to stick my neck out and say there's only one Datsun 1800 Laurel (model C30) and one Mazda 1800. There are 2 Daihatsu Compagnos.

The only Mazda 1800 I have ever seen was in the scrapyard I worked at in 1993/4. The Mazda was a white L reg as far as I remember, and the gaffer tried to sell it complete for about three months before it went in the yard and was cubed soon after. There was another K or L reg one around Hereford, presumably MIA years ago. Never seen another, not in a show, magazine, anywhere. I'm sure there are still a few in Thailand or Cameroon or somewhere!

There was one UK car on ebay a year or so ago which ended up in the hands of a well-ish known OJC collector in Scotland (I believe) who has a small collection of incredibly rare cars but tends to leave them outside through the Scottish winter due to lack of storage.... so that one survivor may turn into none in a couple of years. There are plenty of 1500/1800 shape Luces left elsewhere in the world, but that one is probably the last original UK market car left. They do pop up sometimes in period footage on Britain in the early 70s, but otherwise you'd be forgiven for thinking they never made it here in the first place. Shame really, as it's one of the nicest looking OJCs out there imho. Ditto the C30 Laurel actually (that might be my favourite Japanese car ever...) but it's hardly surprising there is only one of those left here, they must've only sold about 25 to begin with!

Peugeot 203/403 were never officially sold here. In fact, Peugeot imports to the UK only started in 1970. First models were 204/304/504
