dieselnutjob Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 As it says, there is a nice 604 towbar for sale in Saint-Malo.anyone going there anytime soon could get it back to Blighty?or any other ideas? It's huge and heavy.
scooters Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Nige has been known to do sneaky day trips to France to collect chod.... "Bye dear, I'll be back a bit late as I have a few meetings....." (neglect to mention that there are meetings ...but they are in a diffrent country) depart for ferry/tunnel - collect chod - destroy reciepts on return...you were never there - remember to SWITCH OFF YOUR MOBILE so the doris doesn't rumble you with an international call ring tone
Father Ted Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Doesnt look overly taxing to fabricate that.Would it not be cheaper to knock one up yourself?
dieselnutjob Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 funny you should say that I actually have the crossbeam from a Brink towbar off of a Mercedes estate. It takes the same fancy removable swan neck that goes with the Brink towbar on my 806. It would be pretty cool to have a removable towbar on it.
Pete-M Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Hmm. I could do with a towbar for my 604 too.
Luxobarges_Are_Us Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Sometimes, the regular postal parcel service (usually part of the main postal service, in the UK branded as Parcelfarce) can be surprisingly cost-efficient as well as reasonably quick. Have the vendor ask them for a quote. 3-4 years ago, I had a laptop and other bits and pieces sent from Greece for 50ish Euros including insurance for an amount covering the eventuality of the laptop arriving in pieces (it didn't).
Rocket88 Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 I'm going to St Malo the weekend of the 7th October, I can get it as far as Jersey for you, and then ship from there. No idea what it would cost from Jersey though.
Mr Lobster Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Simple. Promise the Mrs a couple of nights away on a luxury cruise with a days sightseeing as well. Book Brittany Ferries Portsmouth - St Malo and back, overnight cabin, pick up towbar. Job done. Happy Mrs, you get a towbar.
