Bluebird front antiroll bar droplink advice please....

There is a knocking from the front suspension on my bluey and it looks like it's the roll bar drop links, I can see the rubber is almost missing on one of them.

The Haynes book of lies says to take the roll bar off, fit the links either side and then re attach the roll bar. Is this necessary or can I just change the link each side leaving the bar in place??

I was just a bit concerned about the tension in the bar and being able to refit the links really?

Cheers in advance.

There isn't any tension in the anti roll bar when the car's stationary.

How are the drop links attached?

They are just bolted on Len, top bolt through the anti-roll bar and bottom is bolted through the bottom wishbone, should be an easy job then other than the bolts are rusty. (goes off to hammer a socket on!)

Sounds a lot like the Peugeot/Citroen setup, I don't know why the Haynes manual suggests removing the ARB. Baffling!

Fit in situ but you will load up the ARB if you jack-up one side of the car. Much easier on a garage lift!

Cheers CIH, I'll jack up both sides and put axle stands under it.. :)
