RALLY to the cause..

Sod rallying - just dress like this, and tool around in it pretending it's still 1987 and you're a tight-wad who's just extravagently bought a brand new car.

GR8 for trips to Presto.

Bloody hell, it was originally registered not far from me, so out of the 2500 miles it's done, 200 of them will have been getting the thing to Nu Kassle.

skoda man said "this old motor has had a great history in TV and has been on Heartbeat,The Royal & Last Of The Summer Wine. Unfortunately l dont have any documentation to back this up"

Hmmm, perhaps lotsw, but the others? dont think so....

Being a big Last of the Summer Wine fan and having most of them on DVD , I do not recall seeing it on the program and I do notice the cars in it!! I could have missed it of course. I particularly love some of the cars Barry owned in the eighties, mark 2 escort, scabby Landcrab, late Maxi etc.

I would definately love to own an Estelle one day.

The guy l bought it from said that this old motor has had a great history in TV and has been on Heartbeat,The Royal

What a tool!, Since when was a 1988 Skoda ever featured in a 1960's set police/hospital program?!

I was flicking through the tele the other week and saw a bit of TLOTSW, If featured a Renault 18 trying to find a parking space. I quickly turned over again.

Actually Heartbeat wasn't immune to the odd error. Down the side of Bernie's garage one week I distinctly remember a red Victor FE, which wasn't introduced until 1972. Vet series One By One had an episode with a motorcycle gang tearing through the 1960s village.... and a red VW Type 25 camper in the background. Oops! And as for Ashes To Ashes.... I think Philip Glenister was the only person involved in the show who was old enough to remember those times! Quattro indeed.... And how did a Maestro roll past in 1981?

There was a Rover 600 and a Mercedes Sprinter in Ashes to Ashes, too.

I swear I saw a Mk1 Escort in Heartbeat once. Which is supposedly set in 1965. Must have been a [very] pre production prototype.

I think we can let Heartbeat have an Escort, as long as it had a correct F or G suffix. AFAIK they "stalled" time at 1969, so an early Escort would be ok. As series-time was about 1961 when they started, it seems they made the 60s last for, what was it, 18 years? I seem to remember Lord Ashfordly having a Bentley T1 coupe, which is fine.

Why the bollocks did the car film company say my [D plated] Amazon was too old then? V strange.
