Cheap Jag anyone?

2001 X-Type 2.5 petrol manual 2WD.

MOT'd March 2012.

Taxed end of August 2011.

Alloys, mingebag-esque cloth interior, air-con, electric front windows, electric front seats-and all that sort of shit.

Pulls really nicely and seems pretty damned good on fuel.

153,000 (I think) on the clock, some history but being honest most of it is from yonks back.

Known faults:

EML on. Had it on a fault code reader, it said nothing worng. However sometimes when coasting to a halt it cuts out but always starts again.

Dent in the n/s/r wing.

Window trim on n/s/r bubbling up/lifting-seems to be a common problem.

ABS light is on, it's the n/s/r sensor, GSF seem to sell them for £22.00.

Petrol filler flap broken.

Handbrake very high, most likely a cable (£27) as they seem to be an achilles heel on these.

So there you go, not the nicest one out there but fixable and above all else probably one of the cheapest you'll find.

Still starts/runs/drives and if you can get the fault code cleared you're laughing. Local Jag dealer *think* it'll be something easy like a 'small split or hole in a pipe' but want £102 to run it through their FCR for an hour and 'go right through it'. Bollocks to that, I never intended to keep the car so I won't be paying for them to do it!

Have a fairly crap, half-arsed picture of the car in question...

Collection only from Chester, Cheshire. Test drive, poke round, chin scratching welcomed. If you can sort this out and flog it on for a tidy profit it won't bother me in the slightest. Especially if you bang an FCR onto it, knock out the lights and then sell it in a car auction.

Price, well here's the rub: it's advertised elsewhere for a fair bit more than I'd ask a shiter, for so pm me if interested and we can talk turkey.

Yes, I'd consider a swap or part exchange if needs be or happy to let it go for wonga in my hand.

*Better/more pictures no problem but bear with me please.

I'd like to say that I recently bought a car of CAVCRAFT and it was a very pleasant experience with no pressure, easy payments and I never had any need to return it for any warranty work whatsoever. :D

I'd be very tempted if I had my Sterling back and a bit more money to throw around. I'm itching to try something different. Good luck with the sale.
