The Fred West Meet

It strikes me we do need a meet in the West and where better than the home of Fred West!

Does anyone fancy a meet in Gloucestershite sometime soon. I'm thinking 16th or 17th July or 6 August. There's lots to see in the area and am happy to meet at mine and have a barber queue too (bring your own meat to the meet). If I stick the stereo on you can eat your meat at the meet to the beat, which is no mean feat!

And, although this is Fred West country, a meet isn't murder - unless you slag off the bubble car!

Am happy to put up a couple of people who may be coming some distance - if you don't mind sharing the granny annexe also known as my motorhome.

If it's a Saturday, we can do a tour of harry Buckland's scrapyard, followed by Twigworth breakers, then Phelps down the Bristol road ...

I would be up for it, sounds like a great idea.

I feel a bit isolated around here as most shiters seem to be from the North or the East!!

it's still 175 miles from Billy, so he's out :(

but we do need something down this neck of the woods - the three scrappies I mentioned are great but there's lots to do in the local area - even a motor museum in Bourton on the Water, and the Attwell Wilson museum of autoshite isn't too far either.

Sounds like a good foundation for a meet

Arf arf!

I can't do either of those dates, but some West Country shite action sounds good.

EDIT - Could always get some shite together at Retro Rides? Prescott Hillclimb, August 21st. It's a tenner in I think, £7.50 if you pre-book. I'll be taking the 2CV and thrashing it up the hill. Would be good to see some other shite motors taking to the hill. Met some shiters at the last one at Haynes Motor Museum, including one chap in a GORGEOUS Sandglow Maxi.

21st August is another possibility for me - although we'd miss out on the shite possibilities of Buckland's crapyard!

Don't s'pose you'll have the 'Schmitt ready? That'd be ace to see going up the hill! I was amazed at how quickly the 2CV could get up there (save for the bloody Morgan stopping all the time).

The Cavette family shall be touring the delights of Lincolnshite around that date and for that reason (and because I'm a hopeless, useless lazy bastard) we're out.

Bonus points if you turn up in a Bedford Midi with 'Carsons Contracts' on the side...

I could try to have it running, even if not MoT'd - I need to spend some time in the garage on it.

It's a long trek for me, but I might be up for it if Atwell-Wilson's involved, I've been wanting to have a nose round there for a while now.

I would have been up for it a few weeks back - but I've just moved from Bristol to the North West :(

I might be around Bath that week in July though. Atwell-Wilson. Hmmmm.
