MrRegieRitmo Posted October 18, 2007 Author Posted October 18, 2007 What is that! Looks like a MkI Escort mated to a Simca 1100 break! It is nice though
MrRegieRitmo Posted October 18, 2007 Author Posted October 18, 2007 Thank Michiel, I could only read the F O R D
Volksy Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 It's a Brazilian Renault 12, sold as the Ford corcel.. Isn't it wonderful!! Here's a saloon one:
MrRegieRitmo Posted October 18, 2007 Author Posted October 18, 2007 I never knew Ford & Renault had any ties!
Volksy Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 From Wiki:The Ford Corcel was a car sold by Ford Motor Company in Brazil, Chile and Venezuela. The Corcel's origins lay in the Renault 12. Willys-Overland's Brazilian operation included manufacturing the Renault Dauphine and, when it was bought by Ford do Brasil in the late 1960s, plans were underway to replace it with the Renault 12, and Ford inherited the project. However, the styling of the Corcel was unique to Brazil before 1978. From this year, the Corcel II, as it became known, bore a strong resemblance to the Ford Escort and Ford Taunus sold in Europe and in Argentina, but its underpinnings were the same.

MrRegieRitmo Posted October 18, 2007 Author Posted October 18, 2007 Bless you Mr Volks! You can now put your feet up for the time being.Wow it did exactly what it said on the tin - it's a MkII Escort / MkV Cortina cut 'n' shut! Looks quite cool tbh
