La Shite en Bleu

Anyone going to La Vie en Bleu this year? Quite pricey at £18 but chock full of quality French shite, with plenty of race action too - everything from aeroplane-engined bedsteads to Renault 5 Turbos. I'll be taking the 2CV up the hill in the parade with luck. Expect much bodyroll at the hairpin. There will be a 2CV racer there too...

Yes, that is a Renault Espace in the Matra line up. And yes, a Skoda Estelle as well. I don't know why.

Avantime - ultimate modern shite?

Will be taking the Aventime shite towing our 1962 French ACC caravan this year!

Should turn a few heads/stomachs...

Come and say hello if your about.

Cool. Might be easier for you to spot me. Hairy hippy with a red/white 2CV. Um, that might not narrow it down much actually...

When & where is this. An Autoshite double-Simca appearence may be on the cards.........

Thats not too far from me. Might go along to it, looks like fun.

That would be INSANE! Thanks to Seth for bailing me out with some actual information...

I'm going again this year as it's a simply superb weekend.

I'll keep an eye out for you dollywobbler. I'll be in my Alpine, the Renault Alpine Owners Club usually backs onto the Citroen club so I'll see you there!

matra built renault espaces 8) not sure about skodas mind :D

Hey I'm going to be there on the Sunday, plenty of Le merde en miniature to sell.

Come and say hello, the van, stand and banners should be easy to spot! And don't forget to bring your cash / cards

Hmm... Probably a tad too far for the Renner Six, and I haven't got anything else French at the moment, unusually.

There's still over a week. That could change! ;)

Excellent. Looks like I'm in for a busy weekend, so apols if you see me rushing around like a headless thing. Just started polishing the 2CV before I realised the utter futility of polishing a turd. No amount of buffing disguises rust! Plus I'm clocking up some daft miles between now and Saturday in it, so it'll be plastered with flies anyway.

Wish I was doing Saturday and Sunday tbh, trouble is they don't let traders camp on their pitches which is a bit of a PITA so its Sunday only. If we do well then we'll do both days next year.

Anyway, come and say hello if you are going - I'll try and sneak out for a quick look around but a lot of the time you don't really get chance to see much of the show.

Excuse my dimness but I couldn't see on the web link exactly where it is. Is it Prescott in Merseyside at all as if so I might bobbble on over?

Posted

No, its Prescott near Cheltenham I'm afraid.

Bumhats.

Cheers Mr L, that's me out then unfortunately.

anyone want a ride in a 604 from London to La Vie on Bleu and back again on Sunday ?

Posted

Anyone from the French car owners clubs going to this tomorrow? I'll be travelling up as long as it's not pissing down; be nice to see a few Autoshiters.

Posted

I should be parked in the CPUK area. Apparently there will be another 604 there as well.

There were indeed TWO 604s, which means I must have photographed you on the hill during the cavalcade. Sorry we didn't get to meet. It was a bloody frantic weekend. I've uploaded some pics to my website here >>> http://classichub.ning.com/photo/albums ... -bleu-2011

Sorry, no 604s in that lot yet. I will add more later in the week. In case you're wondering, I was the really hairy photographer in the Trilby down by the hairpin.

Here's another pic for you. An XUD powered Traction!

Just logged on whilst I upload my pics from La Vie en Bleu to Flickr so will stick a few here shortly.

Cracking day out though, hard work and we were very busy so didn't get chance to have much of a look around. Nice to meet a few 'shiters as well although didn't see Mr Wobbler.

Pics will follow shortly...

Metallic beige one is me. The left hand drive silver one belongs to a bloke called Giles.

Find the pic. Find it now!!

Oh, go on then. But only because this shot is filled with absolute win.
