I treated myself earlier this evening, to some new offroad capable shite! :D Ever since I sold my old Hilux Surf I've had a yearning for another field capable vehicle, and perusing the bay brought up this!

It was for sale 10 mins from my house, by a bloke with the same name as me, that I used to work with! And is an 88 Suzuki SJ413, with a Jago body tastelessly grafted on :) It's mega capable off road, and the actual conversion is really impressive! I'll get some better pics tomorrow when it's light, for now i'm proper chuffed :D

I've taken it out a few times, it's like driving a horseless cart! Seems to go ok though, if a little rattly! I'm going to take it down the woods tomorrow to see how it copes :)

Self tappers are pretty scarce! The bloke that built it used the Suzuki floor and bulkhead, and grafted the body on to it, the bonnet is 2" longer than stock to accommodate the engine, which helps a bit with the proportions, and the wings have been altered to more jeep spec.

I'm well chuffed :D

Hey, that looks pretty well done actually!

You want to bring it down to The Desert near me, found it whilst out and about on my bike and it's got loads of cool looking tracks around :)

Does look well built. So he 'glassed the body on? I'd imagine it's one of those things that sounds obvious until you actually try it! I'd bet he was enough of a pedant, to get the soft top sitting right, too?

I'm well chuffed :D

So you should be!

That looks quite lovely, although I imagine high speed quiet cruising isn't its strong point :D

I occasionally look at those cheap Mahindra jeeps on ebay but they look as much like a real jeep as Dangermouse's car looks like a BMW M1

It seems to bowl along at 50ish ok, apparently it once did 70 down hill with a back wind!

I'm off for some lunch then it's going to find somewhere to play! :)
