STUNO Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 WOW..good serviceI ordered some SD1 bits last night at 9pm our time ..... mail this morning at 8 am , the order has been dispatched air-mail.they will probably be no more than 3-4 days arriving. the wiper switch had received a good kneeing from me and smashed so a new one is on he way and some other bits I needed. For anyone interested the Rover is going beautifully and is now my everyday car, love it !
HillmanImp Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I use them for the GT6. They can be quite pricey but in my experience the service has always been top notch.
Des Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I used Rimmers for TR7 bits in the late '80s, they were good value, used them again a few years ago, for TR7 bit's also and found them a bit overpriced. Wondered lately if they're in trouble as they've started pestering me with 'offers', like really pestering me in a way that smacks of desperation, hope I'm wrong.
dollywobbler Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I think you'll find that's just marketing Des. There's probably an opt-out somewhere. I was chuffed with the service for Mini and Land Rover stuff, and they do the Triumphy bits for the front suspension on the Scimitar too, which is nice.
scruff Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 They can be pricey but at least with the LR stuff you are getting decent quality parts, not the rubbish that some retailers punt out.
pompei Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 The Rimmer brothers were at my school. I claim my ten pounds.
Station Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Did they buy a load of stock or something? Is their warehouse crammed with BL stuff? They have some proper Metro mats I'm after on 'clearance' for £10 because they're LHD, which just means the Metro badge is on the other mat. GR1 for impressin the passenger with official embroidery.
STUNO Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 Delivered Monday at noon. I am very impressedThanks Rimmers
AXrescuer Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I've heard that they're more reliable than a garden strimmer and don't need a zimmer.
RedSparrow Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 They are a mega rip-off as far as I'm concerned. For TR7 bits there are several other suppliers who are half the price. When I asked about the price of a Metro bumper, he just went 'errr, £100 plus VAT', a figure that he had clearly just pulled out of the air. Got the same brand new part for £35ish inc. p+p from Beevers. That said they do seem to have bought up a huge amount of NOS, but if can get a part anywhere else I will.
