They're legally obliged to take back their end of life vehicles, I thought they were just keeping quiet about it.

 

I think it came in sometime around 2004/5 because I remember there being discussion of an ailing MG Rover suddenly having to deal with a million scrap Metros and 200s. Although with scrap prices what they are today, that might have saved them

I remember something about the manufacturer being liable to take back the car and despose of it properly. But i suppose good scrap prices have shat on that idea. It was when prices were supposedly so bad you had to pay the scrap dealer to take your car. Whether that was true or not i dont know.
