We've just taken this in as P/ex for a mere hundred pounds. I always liked them, since right back when Top Gear magazine tested the 2.0 V6 against the MK3 Golf VR6, albeit this one is just the little 1.5.

Literally everybody at the dealership who drives this falls in love with it. Pharquing terrific little car. Pluggity plug plug; I've written about it in my blog (see linky in my signature). Ridiculous that the trade see stuff like this in at scrap value and then send it to the block in the hope of turning some kind of profit. It's a cold, cold industry.

Alas, I'm not allowed to buy it, but any interested parties should beat a path to BCA auctions in Enfield, where all our trade stuff ends up.

I really like these, I test drove a 1.6 a while back on the road from Elgin to Lossiemouth which has a couple of challenging corners then a big long straight, it was very fun to drive and seemed quite nippy but much too cramped for me unfortunately - maybe if I'd taken more time adjusting the seat I could've found a comfy position like you did.

I think the bit of tape over the A/C button is factory fitted by the way.

Ah, interesting. Why on earth did they do that?

Also, can somebody point out what I'm doing wrong with my image embedding? Ta!

Maybe fitting the button to all trim levels was cheaper than producing a blanking switch.

I don't think this forum like your resizing attempt.

Indeed not. How do all you professionals do it?

Also, that alledged a/c switch lights up when pressed. Is it seriously not connected to anything?! That there is craziness!

Mazda use to call these a "5 door Coupe" so I isntantly developed a dislike for them. Boss at old work had a v6 and TBH it was a decent little motor.

I seem to recall they also used the "Practically a sports car" tagline, and I've loved these ever since!

Did you have a nose under the bonnet to see if there's an air-con compressor?
