the chassis is now practially non exsistant due to it rotting to nothing at all!!!

The "chassis" will be non existent because there isnt one.

BX rot spots:

Front inner wings (on the passenger side as you look at it the bit before the suspension spheres is more common than the drivers side) Common, and easy to repair.

 

Rear inner wings ( remove carpet on inner rear wings or look up from under rear - making sure the car is supported on axel stands)

 

Rear door shuts ( the bit where the wheel arch goes into the door) If its holed here then its probably beyond economical repair if you are getting someone else to do the job. If its holed here its will be very frilly elsewhere.

 

Sills, usually in the middle by the B pillar, but also at the ends of the sills.

 

Front crossmembers usually survive as they get coated in LHM.

 

Rear chassis legs can suffer too, but again its usually a neglected example thats gone bad.
