What impressed me about the guy was his stubborn refusal to give in and get a newer taxi. Spending time and money fixing what is (to other people) worthless old shite is, surely, the Autoshite way of running a cab firm?

Paint and bodywork defects, doors not lining up properly, I'd like these inspectors to have a look at a typical Dewsbury taxi. I bet every single one has been in a major crash, at least his only has a torn seat.

-Fucking lol, clearly you've never ever EVAH actully looked at a taxi. I wouldn't call a 2001 Zafira with 290,000 miles on the clock, the last 190,000 done in the last 12 months on ~£30 of upkeep as "tip top".

 

I fucking hate taxi drivers. They demand everything right away, don't want to actually pay for anything, think they're you're best customers and if they're of a specific ethnic origin, play the language card when it comes to the bill and pretend they don't understand english when they were fine 30 seconds earlier. They're enough to make you turn racist.

 

I know it's just a work tool to them but do I give Snap-On or Mac a shit load of grief and arse ache ? NO!

Where I am the oldest mini cab is a N reg Peugeot 405 there were a pair of L reg Rovers still in service but they may have gone now, I know the driver who had one i'll ask him if its still in use (last I heard he lent it to a mate to go mini cabbing).

This J plate 740 is still doing the rounds in Ipswich as is a black J plate 940 saloon which i saw in Sainsburys last week but was too slow with the camera.
