Anyone fancy a Charade convertible?

I bought this last year to save it from being scrapped, but reality has finally sunk in and I'm not going to get round to getting it back on the road in the foreseeable future, so its up for grabs.

Its a 1985 Charade turbo G11r (cb60, 3cyl, 1.0l single cam, carb, turbo)

It comes with the original engine in pieces, so it’s a non-runner, and will need to be trailered. Currently SORN, MOT was out last summer, v5 present and in my name The previous owner stripped the engine, as apparently it needs new rings/shells. Personally I thought a cb80 conversion would be a better option than repairing the current engine. It comes with a spare interior as the current ones a bit scruffy, but apparently comfortable. The wheels on it are MOMO, and look a bit like like Renault turbines to me, theres 5 of them. Its got a custom made exhaust on it and I think its been lowered a bit as well.

Spares inc parts to rebuild the engine are available from Camskill

I have some history of the car, but not a huge amount. Apparently its one of 10 or 15 convertibles made and I am led to believe this is one of only 3 left ... I never could find much history about it, so can't say how accurate those numbers are.

I'm just looking to try and get most of what I've paid out for this, so:

Car with engine in pieces, spare interior etc. £200

CB80 (3cyl,twin cam 1.0l turbo) Engine bare £300

CB80 (3cyl,twin cam 1.0l turbo) Engine complete, inc turbo, manifolds, gearbox, exhaust etc. £500

Buy the car and an engine and I'll throw in the bits I got for the conversion.

I'm not in a drastic rush to sell, so can hold on to it for a bit (after a non refundable deposit is paid) and can possibly help with transportation from Lincs LN5 0BL.

I remember this on RR and lusting after it at the time. I don't see why it wouldn't sell again over there.

I'll prob stick it on RR later on this weekend, but it hung around quite a while on there last year; with me eventually buying it as the owner was about to scrap it.

I love the way the hood looks like it was homemade using the awning of an old caravan.

Very odd wee cars, i like it a lot. Hope it goes to a good home.

You've missed an engine choice off. Does anyone have a spare Charade diesel engine? Shite weapon!

Hey i remember this, did it not spend a while with that numbskull 'Rusty'?

All advertisers: 'Hi, i'm selling XYZ' (could be anything from a Maserati Biturbo to a fuggin Breville toastie maker)

Rusty: 'would you swap for a mk1 Civic, just needs some work on the engine and a repaint'

It was "Rusty" who I bought it off, he was the one who took the engine apart ..... and promised to send me various spares that never turned up :(

My mate's got loads of Charade 1.0 diesel engines, some of which are even non-turbo.

I pondered buying it myself, I nearly did in about 2006 or so.

Haha, that made me laugh, I remember the trials bike wheel in the footwell!

"Why don't you tidy the footwell up?"

"I can't be arsed"

"Can you get any pics?"

"I'll use my mate's phone, as I'm possibly a Luddite."

(5 years later, posts pics up)

"Why don't you put the head back on?"

:?::?::?::?: No clear answer! :?::?::?::?:

It wasn't a bad looking car from what I remember!
