It's a Carina ED, which stands for Exciting Dressy in the first place. They're a pillarless hardtop and ones of that generation usually have a 3S-GE which is a 2.0 twincam used in Celicas/MR2s etc. Top-spec ones have the Toyota Super-Strut Suspension package as with most sporty Celicas. Exciting Version is just a trim-spec as you can get various ones of it.

 

So to be fair, it is unlikely to be a particularly dull drive.
