Would any of you lot possibly be taking a car transporter from Diss in Norfolk to Leigh near Bolton soon? One with space for a Peugeot 604 STi on?

 

Cos if not, I'm gonna have to do a 520 mile round trip on Sunday in a bloody recovery truck, and I really can't be arsed.

thats 170 miles, i reckon even 270 isnt bad, thats about 1.55 per mile

 

depending on the truck you are using, a truck does about 28mpg loaded, you'll do about £80-£90 of squirt doing it yourself, but lose a whole day

Yep. Mechanically it's spot on. Unfortunately it needs a weldathon, which is why it's goin' straight to the welders.

 

I considered trade plating it, but the outer sill covers are fubar and I think it'd end up with a pull. Don't need that.

 

I've arranged borrow a truck for Sunday. Reckon it'll cost me about a ton in diesel but can live with that.

spoke to the 604 registrar in CPUK

he agrees that the outer sills are not structural on a 604 and only need to be screwed on

his is the same as mine in that respect

beware of the sound proofing under the carpets

according to my welding guy it's highly flammable
