Chasing shite

I'm sure most of us like a car chase in our movies, after all we are here as a bunch of car nuts. What's the shitest chase you've seen? I don't mean worst-shot, worst-designed, shortest... I mean the one with the greatest grin factor for shitelovers like us. At this point allow me to nominate: Johnny English. The bad guys are getting away in their Daimler DS420 hearse, swinging the tail out through central London (it's just a big Jag dressed up, and we know what Jags can do, we've all seen The Sweeney), and our hero gives chase in... a Mercedes 814 clamper truck! The numbest, least driveable 7.5 on the planet! And then he manages to work in some proper Bond-gadget games too, as on the back of the truck is his Aston Martin. When he does get the Aston off the back of the truck, it's only to land on someone's trailer (perfectly...) which forces him to make a dramatic reverse exit and J-turn. It's hardly Bullitt, but it's a bucket of fun.

OK, your turn...

Any of the Transporter series. They all follow much the same formula for chase scenes....

Hero in a large german saloon (A6, 7-series etc) is being chased by french patrol cars (306s, ZXs, R19s). During the chase he will miss all onoming traffic but the police following will pretty much hit it all, and given that a large amount of the chases are in France these are always phase 1 Clios, 205s and more 306s, 19s and Meganes, the odd Safrane and XM. 406s always feature a lot too.

Somewhere, in Paris, there's a large amount of T-boned French hatchbacks.

Have to admit, the beautifully-done chases in Ronin match that too! Remy Julienne really seems to like destroying his local produce!

This obscure classic Italian one is my favourite. This was posted on here a few years ago. Think theres a pointless diagram 1/2 way through of the cars engine working as its being driven. Brilliant shite in it too!

Edit, just remembered the films name, its Tony Arzenta. I thought it was the Director's name at first.

Whatever that was, it was enormous fun! Thanks Iain! Top shite action!

Anyone remember a movie with David Niven, I think the setting was Malta? He was in a Triumph Herald convertible, chased and severely menaced by a LWB Landie...

Not a film as such, but the professionals episode "Blind Run" (season 2 episode 9) is basically one long chase! No plot, several cortinas (3 and 4) a fiesta van, daimler 420 limo and a bunch of other stuff (guns, arabs, they shoot up the house from the rocky horror show.....

Well, it was on the other day
