I used to marshall for the Burnhope Vintage Vehicle Rally, from 1996 to 2007. It was a great day out and a good laugh. I missed 08 and 09 due to the RR gathering and 2010 didn't happen (for unknown reasons...)

 

I just remembered I have an album full of random shots from 2004, filled with all sorts of stuff..

The nice thing about the BVVR was that it wasn't a snobby show with concours cars, the object was to traverse a 200 mile course (varied every year) and answer obtuse questions at checkpoints. A fine lunch was also thrown in. Any car over 25 years likely to stay the distance was welcomed with open arms, and the local arms was open at the finish for all to celebrate.

 

This fella in the ancient vauxhall was about 85, a regular entrant, and driving his father's car (which his dad bought new)
