Bit of a long shot this, but........

Whilst wondering around the scrapyard today liberating things from cars, I came across this rather solid looking Volvo 850, nice car, looks ready to drive away etc.... Scrappy owner told me that there was nothing wrong with it and it had been brought in by its owner as he decided to buy a new car. Its been on my mind today and I'm SORELY tempted to lob him some cash for it to save it being eventually baled, but I just cannot justify it at the moment, so was wondering whether any of you lot here might be interested?

I didnt have a lot of time to look around it, apparently the scrappy has yet to pay the owner any cash for it hence its waiting for its fate, all I know is that it looks pretty fresh and clean, was told there was nothing wrong with it. Its a 2.0, with full leather interior. As I said I know almost nothing about this car apart from its about to join the piles of rusting wrecks in the scrappy. If anyone is interested its located at Saltbrook Scrap Yard, Saltbrook Rd, Cradley Heath, Halesowen, West Midlands B63 2QJ Tel: 01384 635238.

I'm sure if he's offered something in the region of £200 he may let go, I dont know. If anyone is interested, I will be more than happy to help in any way I can, just PM me.

Anyway, here are some pics of said car to keep you entertained:

Whilst I'm not in the market for an 850, you know you're at the bottom of the heap when cars in the scrapyard are better than what you drive every day :D

this is all that is wrong with our throw away society - that is very good car which has years left in it but because some twunt cant be ersed to sell it or give it away he scraps it

what a wanker

To be honest, if the choice is to deal with some of the mouthbreathers you get at £300 car levels, or scrap it for £100, I can see why he scrapped it :?

Looks very tidy, and I like those alloys.. Surely if you bought it and it was buggered, you could break it for £200+ if you had the time?

Admittedly I dont imagine they got a much lower than a 2.0 NA?

If I still had my XM, I'd be all over that for the alloys alone 8)

Another set of wheels, flog it on - everyone's happy...
