Anything of interest in these?

As you lot'll be aware by now, I'm a bit of a bus spotter type. About a year and a bit ago I became custodian of over a collection of 10000 bus photos which I've been plodding my way through for a while now. There is some fantastic autoshite amongst them both bus and car based, but in particular this one image struck a chord. If there is interest in this I'll see what other prime autoshite I can find in backgrounds and post 'em up as well...

I've left this one full size - what can you spot? (also here - http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4131/5072081386_01a8e55174_o.jpg)

I spot petrol at less than a third its current price. At a guess that looks to be around 1990?

The newest car I can see looks to be about an 88/89, so probably right. Theres no date on the photo, no location, nothing. No idea where it is... still, some tastyness there...

Whetley, as in the name on the garage, appears to be in/near Bradford according to a quick Google search.

UK petrol was an invented name to replace Q8 during and after the gulf war

155 a gallon for 4star - im off to fill up :D

I've probably never been there, but it has a reassuringly "familiar" look. What's the newest car there I wonder? There's a facelift Sierra tucked in at the back so that's 1987 at least. What's that white car at the far right? I was thinking it might be a MK1 Ibiza but the back end is too squared-off, also looks too small to be a Tipo, given the Metro in front of it.

Uno with a bit of naff colour-coded 'tupperware' isn't it?

Yeah, could be one of those with the clear indicators. Can't tell whether it has a foglight on the front bumper or whether that's something else. We may never know.

Excellent photo! I've invited it to the Old Showroom group on Flickr.

Their stock does seem to have a reasonable amount of sporty(ish) stuff. Cavalier SRi x2 down behind the lady?

My favourite would be the Civic S though. Sadly, but almost inevitably, DVLA says:

It's no later than '87 I think. I passed my test in September that year and four star was just short of £1.70 a gallon.

The Astra GTE is interesting - was available in family friendly 5 door form only for around 18 months in 1985-86-ish, and without alloys as standard.

Noice 190 on the right, a 924 and the Mk1 GTi behind the Astra has a "tailblazer" :)
