Just got home from picking up this little hunny.

It's a J-plater with 116K on the clock and no MoT, but it came with a failure sheet - four tyres, one brake pipe and a sidelight. Not bad at all for one of these - no mention of any grot at all and from what I can see through the mud she does look pretty solid underneath. It drives pleasantly enough in an '80s-Japanese-supermini kind of a way, and it has a 3-cylinder engine which is a bonus in my book. It also has three valves per cylinder - is this the only car ever sold in the UK with a 9-valve engine? It's not the last word in handling or refinement, but then I wasn't expecting it to be... Plan is to get it through a test as soon as and then probably start using it mid-late November when the roads start getting too grotty for the Innocenti. I'm quite pleased with it - I've always liked the look of these for some reason. It's a completely different beast to the Swift-shape Justy I had a couple of years ago, but I actually rather like its slightly agricultural character.

Kewl.

Innocenti going to hibernate, or are you moving it on?

I'm sure Pandamonium will be interested......(moves away as Mrs P explodes)

Nope, Innocenti will be hibernating. Road salt and 17-year-old Italian [thin] steel don't mix well.

Thats a great little car for the winter...if I remember rightly its a little red button on the gearleaver for 4WD? Very reliable. I think I'd go for a 3 door one cos I reckon they had a nicer seat material inside. (He said, in a completely dullard, gimpy, anorak way).

Nice work. I was rescued by a Swift-shaped one during the winter. It managed to shift the Volvo, which weighs about twice what the Justy does and had negative traction in the snow. If I was still commuting I'd seriously consider one.

I'm not sure - I always thought the stripes on the 3-door upholstery looked a bit naff. Plus after 18 years of wear and abuse they'd probably be fairly grotty by now. At least the dull grey of the 5-door doesn't show wear so much.

Nice work Wuvzbury, i am a fan of these cars, i've never driven one though I am told that they can get to 20mph as fast as anything on the road which sounds appealing.

They do have rather low gearing by modern standards.

They're alright, I could chuck mine about quite a bit and the ride is quite acceptable, it's only the slow steering that puts a spanner in the works. Wider tyres help a lot, I put 175s on.

I really like the 'proper' Justy, they just come across as charming wee cars with their tough, melodious 3-pot engines, plunger button 4WD and early 1980s Japanese naffness.

Nice buy, it looks very tidy for a 20 year old, well used Justy.

Ace. Nice to see one of these without too much grot.

I shall be driving the TR7 again this winter. Oddly I found it easier to control in the snow and ice than the Fiesta.

Skinnier tyres?

Actually yeah, that could have alot to do with it. The Fiesta has some Wolfrace bad boy alloyz with stupid wide tyres.

Nice buy! 8) Hope it gets through the MOT without much bother. :)
