LOST KEYS, '03 Ford Fusion....

Ok, this isn't a particularly old or shite car but i'm hoping someone here will be clued up on what we can do.

 

My mum lost the keys to her 03 fusion the other day. She's missing the key and the fob. ATM she's getting around by using the spare key- which doesn't have a fob. The local ford dealer want £85 for the new key and the programming that it needs, plus another £85 for a new fob. Its alot of money, is there anywhere that could do it cheaper? Im sure some independent place could do it for much less. I need to sort something quick though- Mum has spurned my advice and wants it to go to a dealer "cos they know what they're doing".

Ask your local key cutting place.

 

A few months ago I snapped one of the keys to my Sprinter (which has a chip in). I assumed that it would be a dealer only job and plenty of £££s but on Mrs L's insistance I asked the local key place assuming they would say no. To my surprise they could cut a key and had a machine to programme it off the old one. Cost me £25 and works perfectly.

I got a chip key cut for my Mrs. Starlet for £20 from the local key place, they just hld it near some little machine, and it works perfectly! Voodoo!!!

Tried replacement 'chip' keys in the past from independents - they never work properly.

£85 isn't a massive price for something to replace an OEM one.

My sister bought a Ford with only one key, so I called a mobile independent who never showed up.

 

Remember when you could just go get more keys?

I contacted the Maxi Owners Club re my lost keys, & they advised me to contact Ernie Jackson on 01526 398377 or email [email protected].

 

Haven't got a clue who AGM Spares are or if they are specific to older cars, but they might be worth a go.......
