The last dealer directory thread from me, for now anyway,looking at Rover dealers in 1991 then and now,starting with Humberside.

H Nightingale, 28 Main Street Beeford. No longer trading, now houses

Armstrong Massey Barmston Road Swinemoor Industrial Estate Beverley. No longer trading,now a builders merchant 

Buckrose Motors Flamborough Road Bridlington. Looks like it's now a Tesco Express.

Drivewatch 5-7 Queens Street Driffield. No longer trading, now an Iceland 

Dixon Rawcliffe Road Goole. No longer trading. Now Stoneacre Geely and Ford Authorised Repairer 

Dixon 415 Victoria Street Grimsby. Now a Tesco supermarket 

Welptons Livingstone Road Hessle. Now Marshall Honda

Dixon Clarence Street Hull. No longer trading 

TC Harrison 130-140 Anlaby Road Hull. No longer trading,now several businesses 

Maple Garage Aldborough Road Flinton Sproatley. Still trading as a KGM and MG service dealer 

Peter Green Barton Street Keelby. No longer trading 

Drakes Garage York Road Shiptonthorpe Market Weighton. Still trading as a Renault and Dacia dealer, had a Ford Service franchise at one time as well after Bond of Pocklington closed.

DC Cook Normanby Road Scunthorpe. No longer trading 

Phil Ledgerwood Ross Lane Winterton. Rover service centre in 1991. Still trading as a Morgan dealer

I have had some brief thoughts of whether a site/system could be made to track all this info and precisely what sites were which companies/franchises at a given time - however while I have probably most of the technical ability to do this, I'm not sure I have the time, and suspect it'll be an ADHD project that gets half done then abandoned.

In the late 80s/early 90s pretty much every village seems to have had at least one dealer for something, now a lot of towns don't have one

Lion Garage Front Street West and 70 Glebe Road Bedlington. Front Street West is now a BP petrol station and a row of shops, Glebe Road is a used car dealer 

WJ Davidson & Son Adderstone Garage Belford. Still trading as a vehicle repairer 

Semples Tweedside Trading Estate Tweedmouth. No longer trading 

Bishops Garage Main Street Corbridge. Now a petrol station and convenience store 

Colebrook and Burgess Forum Way Cramlington. No longer trading

Blackshaws are still going and I think WJ Davidson is under the name 'Davidsons'. I maybe wrong but when Davidson's became Vauxhall, there was already a 'WJ' in the network.

What franchise if any did Blackshaws have before Rover? They must have got the Rover franchise between 88 and 91 as they arent listed in the 88 directory

Hartwell PO Box 123 Langford Lane Kidlington Oxford. Hartwell have a Ford Transit centre on Langford Lane but the postcode is different so I'm unsure about this one, the postcode given comes up in a different place.

Hartwell Watlington Road Cowley Oxford. No longer trading, again the postcode given doesn't exist on Google Maps
