My New Car - at last!

I have finally got myself a new motor, and chickened out of having any of the modern toss that I could have afforded (thanks for the ideas and advice), but instead went for something a bit older and a bit more me.

 

While no where near as good as boobydoo's new car, here is my pride and joy (well as long as nothing bad goes wrong anytime soon):

 

 

I was in no way influenced by my mate's car, pictured right:

 

 

318i with 149k on the clock, MOT'd til April, no history, but had only done a few thousand miles since its last MOT.

 

Booking it in to get the cambelt and waterpump changed, as well as the tie-rods (an MOT advisory, sloppy in a straight line) and brakes (or lack there of) sorted.

4 pot 1.8 all for £590.00 - plenty of budget left to get the mechanical bits in tip top shape. It needs a little tidyiing, but being flat white paint I should be able to do a halfway decent job of it.

 

Went pretty well despite the vague steering and vague brakes.

I always said that BMW should of made an E30 3 door touring. A lancia HPE for the1990's.

Much love from me also , mines running great although did conk out last week which was a simple case of cracked dizzy cap , mine had too much pedal travel which turned out to be pedal height adjustment .

Servo is on the passengers side and the pedal is remote linked with some crappy bar effort , slack on this makes them feel crap , A quick spannering sorted mine , Worth remembering if , after youve sorted all the hydralics out etc they still feel shit

 

Heres mine , never seen one sit quite so high
