I'm picking up a rotten Maestro tomorrow so I can bum the tailgate for my diesel maestro converted thing, luckily thats the only panel that isnt rotten!

Its got the early style dash in but the whole car is pretty rough. Anybody want anything from it before it gets pressed? Everything will be cheap!

Dark blue, but a window has been left open so im expecting it be trashed!

If the dash is any good im toying with sticking it in my Maestro. Probably much more trouble than its worth.

Ooh some pics please when you acquire it - so we can give it some fame  - really feeling the love for the Maestros at the moment...

Im not sure I can upload pics on this old Apple but I can try. Not sure if photobucket will like the mac either!

I could txt you some pics if you like? Its in a suitably rustic situation.

Through no fault of my own, I use an apple computer at home and it seems to get on with photobucket alright. Lets see some 'full frontal' and 'open rear door' camerawork

i need some trim for my 1983 L, it has a blue interior.

any picture of the interior you could provide would be absolutely positively magnificently brilliantastic.

Right, ive got the maestro and its a total shitter with windows wedged up with bits of cardboard, dents and rot everywhere, snapped off door handles and green algae all over the place. The wheels seemed to be home to hundreds of snails too, which after A framing it home seemed to be annoyed with being whizzed round (their antenai seemed extra wiggly)

The car hadn't run since 2007 but fired up on the original battery after chucking some petrol down the carb. Amazing! Engine has 41k on it and is possibly worth saving. If nobody wants it though ill just weigh it in with the rest of the car. Box is a 4 speeder so V common and worth about 1p.

The interior is actually quite good. Some of the plastics have cracked but the door cards, carpets parcel shelf and dash all look to be excellent. Seats are grubby but unworn.

Ill try to upload some pics. I didnt get any in-situ as it was pssing down and I wanted to go home. I have some home shots though.

*EDIT* Cant find my phone lead, Greengartside, could you send me your number pls??

103Landys3, which bits would you like?

i am after the surround from the gear stick/handbrake and gaiter. also the tiny screw covers in the centre of the window winders.

do you have any of that available?

Thanks for hosting the pics GGS. I dont know any fit eligible women, but If I meet any ill pass the number on. ;)

The pics make it look better than it is. Its pretty dire in the metal.

No probs with all that, except I think the gearstick gaiter is torn. The plastic surround is good though.

Hey its got a cracking A frame on it! beautiful.

Hey, the A frame was an optional extra for Maestros and Montegos for the 1985 model year.

Yo Tim, could I haz the instrument panel (to add to my other one) and possibly a number plate (to add to my 'collection' for the shed wall)?

My PayPal is buggered due to stupid Escort man trying to send the whole amount for the car up the arse of the account.

Let us know how much dosh you want and I'll try and sort you out alternative payment somehow?

Oh thanks for passing my number on. no chavs or single mummies please - unless the mums look hot, and under the age of 30. Ta!

Im hoping to keep the whole dash and instruments e.t.c intact as i'm considering swapping the later Montego style dash in my road-going exaple for this earlier type. I think the earlier types are AWESOME but its hard finding a good early maestro! I have a spare later style set of instruments which you can have, along with a couple of numberplates if you want them. Just send me the cost of postage.

Yo Tim, have you still got the beige Maestro?

Unfortunately not. I saved all the usable bits and weighed the rest. It had nasty hidden rot and was full of filler. A pair of replacement sills had been tacked/fillered over the rotten originals and these too had started to rot. The inner rear arches were also rotted and bodged with filler. Just too much work for a Maestro! The centre section of the replacement cover sills, along with a rear arch have been salvaged to repair my Maestro van trailer..... so it will live on, in a way.
