Roadtrip to Sussex - With added shite...

As requested - my roadtrip to Sussex to pick up my wheelz for the Astrashite.

Started off at 8.30 this morning - got to East Sussex by 11.45, arrived at the guy's house and spent a while chatting to him and looking at his aviary (!) and was off by 12.15 - got back to base just before 4pm.

Done it on a full tank, 350 miles - which isn't bad considering it's not running right (knackered AFM) and I wasn't hanging about  - did spot a little bit of shite along the way which I shall share with you all...

Pretty normal looking M25 on a Saturday morning.

Damn those queues - it wasn't too bad this end, coming back was horrific!

Oh, what's this?

Poor buggers, stranded little Midget with sad owners.

If anyone was wondering why the M20 was chaotic this afternoon - blame this Renault Laguna. That won't polish out.

And finally, a rare spot - Nissan Figaro :D

I missed out on some really cracking motors, mainly because they were going the other way. A Capri 280 Brooklands, Mk1 Fiesta and a Toyota Corolla AE86. Also due to not getting the camera out quick enough, missed were a Mk3 Cortina with a primer paint scheme and a loud exhaust and a broken down Maxi a-la H.Sceptre (it wasn't him...)

Enjoy! :D

That traffic isn't too bad for the Dartford bridge!

Nissan Figaros aren't rare around these parts. One of the biggest (if not the biggest) UK importer of them is based in Southend, there's fuggin loads around South Essex.

In fairness i was travelling at 55-60mph at the time so everything felt like it was passing at a million mph.

I'd claim a few more points for the Sunny in front of the XJ-S. Same shape and colour as the Pulsar GS I used to own.

Yes, the Sunny in front of the XJS...! It's surprising how few and far between these appear to be getting now, especially the estates and the non-puslar/GTi three door models. I can't remember the last time I saw either. There used to be tons of them around here back in the late nineties. All gone, now...

The Nissan Figaro isn’t that rare around these parts. There used to be two small Jap import places nearby (both closed down) and numerous examples found local homes. I know of at least three which still live very close to me. Two in that very pastel blue colour and another in that rather fetching pastel green they did. Not a huge fan of them to be honest, although the cream leather seats in them are gorgeous. Yes, they're based on the K10 Micra to the best of my knowledge and I think they use a turbo charged 1.0 lump hooked up to a three speed auto. Personally, I'd rather roll around in a late K10 Micra...
