Local shows - Arminghall and Rickinghall

I'm lucky to have these two local shows held regularly through the year, they take place on non-clashing Saturday mornings so I can get along to them without it taking up too much of a weekend. Usually people I know at them so I can be one of those old boys taking nonsense and both have autojumbles so I can spend a bit of pocket money on things I don't need.

Arminghall (Norwich) last weekend:

Great to see the 164 of @wuvvum out and about, which found itself in appropriately AS-worthy company. The 2000E in the background was rather nice.

And the other 164.

929 coupe a fairly recent import. Last time I remember seeing one in the wild was in France back in 1996.

Could also have gone in the wheel trim crimes thread?

I really, really like 4-door hardtop land yachts.

I have a bit of a soft spot for P5B coupes too.

Mk3 estates are so good-looking. A bit of patina to this one.

Local Celica gang.

Another one turned up later on.

The lad who owns this SA import Corolla is a regular the local Japanese car meets, he also has a Carina II estate.

Bright and tidy Ghia.

And Rickinghall yesterday, nice village which is just into Suffolk:

My company for the morning.

Turns out this one belongs to a friend of @Semi-C. Had a dealer sticker from a garage that was very local to where I lived in Ipswich and was sold new by McNamara in town. Apparently stashed in a lorry body and forgotten for something like 26 years.

Coupe comparison. The Cavalier is a regular, and it turns out I know the Capri's owner through work I did for his company back in 2008. I recall him having it back then stashed away in the garage, he's just finished restoring it and he's taken the V6 out to 3.4-litre.

GTV a 2-litre, would have been interesting to see it alongside the Capri etc. XJ-C in the background is another regular, always looks very smart and that '70s colour is just perfect for it.

I liked this one, apparently they're putting it up for sale once they've got some scratches repaired.

Both of these were for sale, £4890 on the Ami and £2890 for the GS. The latter a bit of an oddity, apparently an import from SA.

What I like about these shows is seeing cars which have been local from new, the Sierra GT from North Suffolk and the Capri from Norfolk. The latter had a couple of nice older photos and some info about it:

Didn't immediately know what this was, apparently a 1959 Bucker DD2 Mistral. A quick search brought up a page with loads of history about this very car: https://classicsglemham.org.uk/1959-buckler-dd2-mistral-1

And finally, one for @eddyramrod

I believe Arminghall is done for 2025, but there will be at least one more of the monthly Rickinghall events, maybe November too if the weather is OK.

Been meaning to get down to Arminghall for years as it's by far the most local show to me, looks like a good variety of cars there too. Usually discover it was on from seeing it pop up in your posts here instead so must make more of an effort next year I guess!

Yup, definitely worth a trip there. Get there earlier rather than later though.

I use to wonder why the Celica club seems to have gone pretty quiet but then I remember the youngest Celica is almost 20 years old.
