A 'on-line road-tax' question..

I'm about to put my Matiz back on the road after a short lay-up, it has a fresh MOT and I wanted to change the insurance over this weekend. I want to 'tax' the car on-line the same or following day as I will need the car on Monday for work.

 

My question is, how long after changing the insurance over can I tax it on-line and what kind of info do I need to put in to obtain a disc (can't you tell I've never done this before ?)??

Tax reminder serial number thing or V5c is what you need. Wether or not it'll pass the Doovla's online insurance test is a total lottery but personally I've never had any problems.

You need it to appear as insured on www.askmid.com before the Doovla system will let you tax it. My insurance company is really shit at updating the systems, it can take weeks to get a car on askmid!

Took me a couple of days for the Fiesta to be noted as insured on AskMid, but yeah definitely when that's approved then you should have no problems
