Old lorries stolen from the Wirral.

I know there are a few people on here in the Cheshire/Liverpool area, so thought it was worth posting this up here.

A friend of mine has had her DAF recovery lorry, and the classic Morris that was loaded on the back, stolen in the early hours of last Friday (June 25th) from the Wirral area.

Details:

DAF 1900 Dark Blue with a Beaver Tail, registration F353 DFD

Morris PV, registration 17 SKD / 95 BD 52.

The latter is especially distinctive, as it is fully kitted out in the back for overnight accomodation, and is finished in sand colour with the large "H" to the sides and the roof.

The Morris was only loaded onto the DAF late on Thursday afternoon, and was stolen just a few hours later.

Photos of both below - the only shots I have of the DAF are from 2003 when the Dodge was moved on it.

If anyone sees or hears of either vehicle, please let me know.

Rick

Will keep Dixy round here. Alas I think they're probably either weighed in or, in the case of the Daf at least, being exported.

That's a real shame

Slightly off-topic, but that Dodge truck is the ex-Dennis Poore one that used to transport his Alfa 8C to post-war race meetings. It's been in the process of restoration for about 15 years... I have an article from '87 when it and the Alfa were uncovered for the first time since about 1952.

Just a thought but if it was stored at the aerodrome at Hooton/Vauxhalls (which it looks like in the picture) wasn't there CCTV in operation?

I have copied this onto my own forum, and the StolenClassics.co.uk forum too. Can somebody get some contact details for the owner? Or at least the Police that are dealing with the theft.

Just put it up on a local Wirral forum!

Living in Essex, I know nowt about that - maybe you could do it?

Thanks everyone. I hope they turn up!

Contact details? Even the police dealing with it would be something. We don't even know which forum it was originally posted on, to tell anybody on there.

I think he meant he had done it already.

Mate, there's no point in us all keeping an eye out if we don't know who to tell if it's spotted. CONTACT DETAILS PLEASE!

Sorry to go on, but it's important.

Well I didn't see your posts until after you'd posted three times in the space of about 2 hours. I'm not on the computer 24/7. Important yes, but please don't go on - I don't know the owner and could have just not bothered posting

Sorry but I'm in a really bad mood atm...
