But I have to crow

BBC before the world cup described the New zealand team as " a team of part-timers and no-hopers".

This country has only about 18 professional Football players. and they were capable of a draw with Italy.

How long will it last?

And I promise not to say another word.

For now :)

P.S. I have inly ever seen 1 Football game, so don't call me a fanatic.

25 FIFA registered pros in NZ. What a result yesterday! I have a lot of family in Wellington and I think all of them phoned at some point or other to make sure we were watching. The chap brought on at the very end apparently was a bank clerk! Pure class!

My Dad's comment was, perhaps a little insensitively, "World Cup 2010, Monte Cassino - you boys took a hell of a beating!"

Nice one Kiwis.

The football does my head in, but I admit, that story made even me grin! Nice one NZ!

Very tense game, I was cheering you on! Your defending was amazing and you almost nicked it towards the end...

Same here - at least 500 people living in the blocks around me were cheering along to NZ. Chinese usually favours the bigger teams, but as the mainstream teams are doing so badly, the underdogs are gaining popularity.

The "giant-taming" performances are actually making me more interested in the games to be honest.

I have a tenner on Honduras beating North Korea in the final.

It is simply brilliant isn't it. I don't feel so bad being English as we can still laugh at the Italians and French. Mind you, this does mean thus far New Zealand have performed better than us

good on them.....as for the BBC and English media, they always blow off too much about Engerland etc

I'm not into football, so can someone who is please tell me what the best/most popular web discussion forum is for discussing football?

I'm going to register an account on it and then start a thread about old French cars. :D

There's a pull out football poster in this month's Viz with the words 'COME ON ENGLAND' on it, and on the next page is a cut out with the words 'FUCK OFF' to stick over it 'if you are Welsh, Irish or Scottish'.:lol:

No shame in bowing out that way. Besides, even if you don't like football wy pass up the opportunity to laugh at the French?
