E30 touring anyone? -- *self pimpin'*

Tax: End of month.

Right after the hassle of last month, and suddenly living by myself, I realise I have absolutley no need for two cars at the moment.

I bought this back in January from this very forum to do the running around, take the pressure off escRot during bad weather and to do some fetching and carrying.

I've enjoyed owning it, it was many firsts for me.

First injected car, first auto, first with power-anything.

Its fantasically comfortable, super smooth and it makes a gorgeous noise. I would jump in it to go anywhere, totally dependable.

 

Spec;

--Royal Blue metallic

--Comfort seats

--Maplight mirror

--Cruise Control

--7x15 BBS's including spare

--Electric front windows

--Electric tilt + slide sunroof

--Electric mirrors

--Switchable autobox

--325i throttle body and inlet manifold

--OEM 325i Touring exhaust (twin exit) Sounds lovely and pops when it changes up 8-)

--13button OBC (with a blown backlight bulb)

--Witter towbar

 

There were a couple of issues that I've sorted out as they've reared their heads;

--Replaced No6 exhaust rocker.

--Replaced cambelt and tensioner.

--New (BMW) thermostat housing

--New water pump.

--New (BMW) Speedo sensor in the diff (although, Ive narrowed the tempremental speedo down to a loose wire behind the the clocks)

--New seal at bottom of tailgate screen.

--New (BMW) top radiator hose

--Underbonnet fuel lines have been replaced.

 

 

Bad Points;

--Firstly, not much history. I have some receipts from the last few years and a service book from another car ::) ;D

--Tax runs out at the end of the month, I can retax if a deal is struck

--Some marks and dings on the doors/bodywork - I'll get some specific pics tomorrow/this weekend

--Front valance needs a blowover. I think it used to have a splitter on and when it was removed its taken some paint off.

--Both front wings have had paint at some point in the past, not the bast colour match (as they havent lacquerd 'em)

--Same on the tailgate, some lacquer crazing and slight missmatched paint

--Auto gearbox selector surround has a broken tab so it rattles.

--Passanger front seat has a snag in it from a zip on someones back pocket.

--Bulb in OBC display is blown

--Usual crack in dash

--Headlining is sagging, Ive boshed a staple in it for now to keep it from touching folks heads.

--Coolant sensor is broken, so although its full and checked regularly, it still lights up on the check panel.

--The tailgate is just begining to crisp up at both bottom corners.

--Small hole on O/S/F inner wing (where something has been bolted through it at some point)

--Headlamp wash/wipers doesn't work.

--Could do with the front wheels balancing as there is a little shimmy at motorway speeds. I'll try and get them done though as it does my head in.

These pics are a good 4months old, and obviously the car was mucky at the time.

I've got some decent pics at home from when I spent a few hours cleaning it the other week that I'll bob up tomorrow to show you how it can look.

 

I'm not in a huge rush to flog it so I'll be firm with the price.

Don't get me wrong I could do with the money, but if it doesn't sell I'll SORN it, tinker with it for a month then re-tax it to take me and escRot to RRG.

ive been asked by a mate to ask two questions

what's the condition of the seats?

 

how many miles since cam belt and tensioner?

The seats were mint. I've had a seat cover on the drivers seat since I bought it to make sure it stays that way. Unfortunately my ex managed to cause a pull in the base of the passenger seat with a zip on her jeans. I'll get a pic tomorrow.

The rears are equally good, and have had rear headrests retro-fitted.

Its been at most 1k since the belt, tensioner, waterpump and thermostat housing.
