Since these pics were taken Dave had fitted a thick silver stripe on the bonnet and bootlid. I have more up to date pics, I will post them when I've uploaded them on photobucket.

Pog strikes again in his Kangoo!

Would that be for parts? Such a shame. Don't these people know that taking cars is a pain in the arse and not nice?

Posted

Didn't someone say that Vitesse front suspension bits fit Rebels?

Posted

I posted this on 6 forum, the only one it got moved on was RR. Could they not leave the petty rules aside just once, in case somebody knows something?

And what are you trying to suggest ?

Obviously not, else someone would have nothing to do all day!

That the rules on RR are a bit gay?

Good news on this one!

RIGHT listen just been told the cars parked in ellis road mitcham behind the goat pub was spotted by a mate on his way to the scrap yard so hurry up whoever and get there. have been in touch with admin just waiting to here from noodles or the owner lets hope its returned before someone takes it again

Then

Thanks for letting me know Wayne  I have called Noodles (Dean) and also texted him and also tried Escort Chick (his g/f) phone as well but that goes to answer, and also Jimbob as he is one of the Medway crew (his phone just rings and rings). I think Dean got the message as he keeps trying to call me but his mobile loses reception :? Hopefully they will get there in time.

Well spotted Wayne

Police now on the scene

Just waiting to find out the car is 100% safe.

Eh? What? Some websites have rules?

Sounds like a good outcome :D

Autoshite kind of has rules too - No posting porn ... right ?

But i guess with Warrens avatars, we have to question that

True

Also true!

I'm shocked and appalled. How dare a Retro Rides administrator move a thread about a stolen car to the Stolen section!

(more seriously, glad that this time, there's a happy ending!)

I know what you are saying, but if I hadn't posted it in the general section, I bet very few people would have seen it. Somebody even said so, so I am not the only one who doesn't look in the stolen section, not everybody gets that far down the board. It's not like I was selling something FFS! There's being tidy then there's being anal and pedantic.

Posted

How is it being anal and pedantic to want something in the right section? I accept that stolen cars always tug on the heart strings that bit more, but I think it was good of them to have a Stolen section. I tend to keep an eye on it and I'm sure others do.

NEWS FLASH !

RR moderation causes Autoshite chaos

Thousands of online members have bared witness to what can only be described as "Moderation Madness" , this madness has spilled onto other well known forums and caused many a controversial scene.

Our interview earlier today with "Da Management" at Autoshite revealed the following ..

Keeping a forum alive whilst making everyone happy is a tricky business, but i try to keep a healthy balance of both Maxi backseat love and crusty Autoshite arches. I can understand what all parties are saying , as both moderation and public awareness of car thefts are important, but it's no '60up' now is it ?

 God i get too bored sometimes

Theres certainly some pedantry and 'anality' in this story alright.

Fred man how can you possibly complain about someone putting your stolen car thread in the stolen car department? That is ridiculous.

I can understand the complaints of both sides. Technically the admin are correct, and unlike *some* of the times when their actions have been [endlessly] debated, they have a sound basis for what doing what they did.

What I do appreciate from Fred's post is that the Stolen section of RR doesn't get a lot of traffic. By placing it in the 'wrong' section, the mods get to flex their e-muscles and users who wouldn't have necessarily seen the post saw it, albeit briefly.

Wat's verdict:

AMBIVALENCE

(but with less cats and satin black blackboard paint).

The problem there is that there is a "wrong section".

Gradually, I'm understanding why and becoming glad that this 'ere autoshite has only the one section for everything.

So, where do I post a for sale message about these Vitesse wishbones, trunnions and hub carriers that I was out thieving for minimad's project recently? :x

No pron is it? Shame, I've some ace shots of Brewer on the toilet, pretending that his n0b's the gear lever of a 1978 Allegro 1300.

Ssh , it's a secret

Posting things in the wrong place can be great - take all these complaints about Retro Rides, I think it's incredibly useful to have them all stored over here on Autoshite.

Anyway, must dash - I've got a complaint to take up with KFC about the quality of the service at Burger King.

Posted

My point is what's the reasoning behind shoving something in a virtually unseen section, when stolen cars of all things need to be seen! OK so they don't want people whinging and selling stuff on the general section, but stolen cars of all things should be an exception. Ah whatever, sick of the place anyway.....

Posted

WELL DONT GO THERE THEN! Look I have solved your problem for you.

Posted

i always look at the stolen section, if theres a new post.

like the RR wiki - its fallen on its arse through lack of interest

fred: my advise is take a deep breath and log out of RR never to return

p.s. this vid is very funny

AMBIVALENCE

You mean AMBER LAMPS ?

Posted

Absolutely, already thought of this. Shame though, I liked it at first, but I am sure they can do without me! :D

quite frankly I belive that websites should have rules re this sort of thing and language as well. I mean who wants to read stuff like:

"cunting minge munching purple headed custard chucking dick heads"

to describe the Flying jacket brigade?

fucking disgrace I tell ya!

There's a forum that I moderate on, where the other day an established member posted a 'For Sale' in the wrong section on purpose. That was reported and as I saw it first, I dealt with it by moving it to the correct section and notifying him. He was slightly aggreived at this (as he had posted it there to genearate a bit of extra interset), I then went on to explain that it had been reported, that it had to be acted on and that I wasn't looking for stuff to do and that if I was, I would also move his other 'For Sale' that he had purposly posted in the wrong section.

Correct decision? I didn't want a precedent set where some members would feel free to clutter up the technical forums with 'For Sale' posts and I didn't think that it was necessary to piss him off by trawling through his recent posts and moderating them.
