X351 Jag XJ - A little help with minor things, please!

Evening All,

I've agreed today to take on a last-gen Jag XJ. Very exciting stuff! I've wanted one for a long time... It's a 2010 Premium Luxury in silver with a host of portfolio extras. It goes, steers and stops right and has had a good chunk of money thrown at it over the years which is good to see from a mechanical point of view. No unwanted noises, all electrics work, including cooled seats(!!) and the aircon is chilly cold

Ideally I'd have a low mileage V8 wonder thing but this was a good opportunity to try one a bit lower down the money bracket without a massive hit on the Cluffy coffers to cover holidays and life "musts" (aka paying for boring shit like a house, insurances blah blah blah)

It does need a little interior attention.  Any thoughts on:

-how to get rid of sticky/tacky buttons? Most are ok but window switches and the steering wheels switches let it down

-recommendations for leather colouring kits? Fronts are good but the rear bench looks like some coins/buttons have had a good go at it from time to time

-for the leather in general - been a while since I had cow hide in a car so could do with a recommendation on best way to treat / maintain it all.

Looking forward to collecting the car tomorrow. I'll put up some pictures then 👌

Haven't used it yet but about to order this for my x300

Following with interest though as I'm starting to look at getting one of these as well! Assuming 3.0d?

Thanks for the link!

Yeah it's a 3.0d with the six speed. Local to me and owned by a very nice chap who is getting a company car that's hard to say no to.

I'm looking forward to getting it and giving it a clean to my standards and learning what's what!

Just took one on return home. I'll get more once it's had a proper clean. Quite a nice Infotainment install for AA /Car Play added by the previous owner that doesn't ruin any OEM functionality:

Door trims are apparently actual carbon fiber lacquered up..!

New "issue". Unlocking and opening the driver's door does not deploy the mirrors. Opening any passenger door does..??!?
