tooSavvy Posted September 23, 2024 Author Posted September 23, 2024 During MrGetz residency I complained there was no temp gauge.... just 'idiot light' π I purchased a temp display/sensor but never deployed it..... I'm deffo going to do something with AVAS, another 'idiot light'.... Astras have history around overheating π― I'm going to do a 'non invasive'/ no wiring into the cabin trial.... Β The sensor will be located on the plastic neck + duct tape and the gauge set up loose on the scuttle somewhere... I will use the 'hidden/second menu' to get the actual water temperature and compare that to the gauge display. A reading +/- a couple of degs will suffice.... Change is significant!! Some cheap replacement coils fail rapidly but others look just like OEM reboxed. Even OEM coils are subject to medium-term failure without frequent changing of spark plugs. tooSavvy Posted September 26, 2024 Author Posted September 26, 2024 Just been reading up, on Astra Head-Unit U/grades, and discovered we have both a 'constant 12V' & 'Ign only 12V' wire entering the unit....
