New shite.......

After passing the Maestro Clubman tdi onto my dear old dad to replace his demised Pug 205 diesel, I've replaced it with a slightly shabby Tata Loadbeta pick up, with a Peugeot 2 litre turdo dizzler [XUD lump?] I expected it to drive like a bag of shite, but it's surprisingly nice. Gearbox is a bit odd though, 5 speed with dog leg first gear. Any ideas where they sourced it from?

Cast iron shite! I quite fancy buying a pick-up but they are way too shite for me.I think that engine is based on the antediluvian Indenor diesel used in 504s, etc.

Only done 43k miles, and drives well.It's got [apparently] the sume lump as the 505 dizzlers. Goes quite well, but the gearbix is a right oddity, 5 speed with dog leg first. Have a feeling it may be a Mercedes box, certainly feels crap enough for one!

It's actually pretty sound, and I think someone has had a half decent attempt to actually maintain it mechanically. Most of these seem to fall into the hands of people who run them 'til they drop. Body is a bit scabby, but it's got a set of brand new tyres, and a set of new glowplugs, and all the fluids seem fairly clean. Photos to follow
