I have an extensive collection of goosed automotive batteries. Are they worth owt for scrap / recycling or should I just lug them down the tip?

Worth about £3 each, I weighed some in last week.

Got a link somewhere to someone who buys them and collects, will try and dig it out later.

Take them down your local scrap metal dealers. As easy as taking them down the tip, plus you get paid! The price can go up and down however, a mate took a car full in once and got 80p!

Definitely weigh them in. But you’ll get more from a proper metal processor than you will at your average tat yard. My recycler of choice “discovered†some unused railway lines. Unfortunately the law rediscovered them

Keep one back for yourself. They come in handy for putting in an old pillowcase and getting rid of any unwanted kittens/puppies at youre local duck pond.:lol::D

I just take mine to our local tip where they get all huffy about absolutely everything you take down there for some reason. Wood is it? Sure? No plastic in it? Or nails? or metal? Got any bees in it? Is it painted? What sort of paint?Fucks sake mate, you're only gonna make a big bonfire with it when we aint looking!
