This old van sits in a driveway close to me. The house looks equally abandoned.

I'd bet that with a can full of fresh fuel, that would fire up and run...

I bet you it will still need a tickle with the welder, somewhere.

Perhaps Europe could be a good source of panels and other corrodibles?

'Van Rouge' and 'Van Blanc' were Citroen special editions in the UK, for the red and white C15s... mine is 'Van de Pommes'...

Will it be a source of spares or a fixer upper?

Not sure. Hope i can fix it up. If not it's for spares. It's a non runner so that's the first task to try and get it to run.

Well actually the first task is collecting the thing ... it's in Acharacle. Had to Google maps that one.

Well, collected the C15 on Tuesday. Non runner but was running when parked up allegedly. The fuel pipes were rusted through and there was a fuel solinoid missing off the fuel pump. Once they were replaced it started up. So I am going to try and put it back on the road.

Today I ripped out the wood paneling in the back and the seats and carpets. It needs lots of little holes in the floor, sills, wings, doors welded up but nothing big. Also needs a bonnet and a drivers seat. Oh and brake pipes, brake pads, brake hoses, alternator, timing belt, aux belt, oil and filter, left hand door trim, air filter.

Easy!20251029_092909.jpg.7fcdb520ec0a977fe4ba989099e5b9bf.jpg

Ah, it's not that bad!

C15s don't have very complicated metalwork, mostly flat bits and right angle bends. No-one but the MOT tester will see the welding here, as the results will be hidden behind plastic trims and the rear bumper.

If you need them, you can get new (aftermarket) outer sill panels for both sides, from Coastal Motorhomes:

https://coastalmotorhomes.co.uk/citroen-c15-o-s-outer-sill-repair-panel-84-05.html

https://coastalmotorhomes.co.uk/citroen-c15-n-s-outer-sill-repair-panel-84-05.html

They do some other spares as well.

That's only one bit of it.  It really is not that bad and I sort of enjoy fixing it up. The plastic end caps for the bumper are OK so I dont need them.

I thought those titles were just the first models they brought over to the uk.  Seem to recall it was only available in the two colours, white or red.  Not sure they were actually some kind of special edition.

Looks great! Once done, at least you won't have to do it again...
