Anyone on here ever done so?

What issues are likely to arise/need looking at before purchasing one, I would have to apply to change the tax class is all I can find out....

Why should there be any special issues?  Mostly they are low mileage, carefully driven and well looked after.  I have had a WAV Kangoo for years.  It has never been in the disabled tax class, it is registered as an MPV, and I have never had a problem with insurance.   It's a practical car/van/camper.   The lowered floor and ramp are often useful.  The only disadvantages are that it is difficult to retro-fit a full width rear seat, and almost impossible to fit a tow bar if you wish to retain the ramp.

Changing tax class and such is no issue.  No different to any car that's been issued by Motabiliy.

Only thing I'd say is to get some insurance quotes first as I found mine to be surprising expensive to insure for what it was - a lot of companies who seem to specialise in vehicles like that look to have a 20 year age cut off so I was left with a fairly small pool to choose from, so not sure if it's easier with a newer example.  Plus it does just seem that small vans just *are* a bit pricy to insure as the absolutely standard Peugeot Partner I replaced it with wasn't much cheaper.

None.

Tax class change is easy  as long as you have the right letter  (which I apparently didn't twice - my error)  otherwise umm buy "a good one"  wich fits your needs (obvs).   Make sure any adaptations work properly and or have been serviced/inspected if nessasary- hoist/lifts/ramps.  I assume your changing it into the disabled/PIP/motability class? I think once its sold from motability /disabled user it is automaticallyally shunted to the std vehicle RFL class when thr v5 goes off.

2nd hand they carry a  decent premium apparently.
