527i?, Tell me more!.

I think you make it by using bits from a normal 525i and the head off a 525e to up displacement.

As promised

The Starions, it doesnt look like that at the moment as it was hiding a pile of filler, fibre glass and serious rot underneath that shiny exterior. She is currently undegoing a from the ground up resto

Yeh what that man said, although i have put some extra goodies in mine like uprated pistons, schrick cam etc.....

wow lovely collection, what are the plans for the lancia :)

Posted

A full resto amd then im gonna take her home, back to Italy, on a road trip and back (one day)

Think i have jizzed all over the place!, That BMW is lovely! How solid is the HPE? I bet it's like a sponge underneath.

I bet it's like a sponge underneath.

How dare you :D No she is as solid as a rock, thanks to its mileage and being zeibarted from new its in a1 condition underneath. There is surface rust here and there but the floorpan is all original.

That's a rarity then!, It rare for any old Lancia not to be rotten, Good work for £175 then!

Yeh she was a good buy, it was saved by me from being scrapped (as were all my cars except the Starions). I cant stand destruction and scrapping of cars and i'm fortunate that a friend is a great mechanic and helps with sorting out the fleet. Also the family love the cars and even started my little sis off collecting retro motors

Hi, welcome to Hell.awesome fleet I must say, wouldn't kick any of those out of bed. Particularly like the Starion

Posted

Some of the little sis's cars, most of which i use every now and again

This abandoned golf was rescued by me off a guy on the squadron where i work, gave it to her to use as her daily, bit of wash and a polish it looked awesome

Birds weren't a fan of it

As it is now, in non scene, split bbs, rat/slammed awesomeness

Ah, a fan of the Whispering Giants eh.I went to and from Mauritius in 74/75 on one of these. Well comfy, shite interior. Famous for comfort on the EA routes.I always wondered if the one at Duxford is the one I went on, I must look for my Junior Jet Club log.......... maybe my Mother still has it?Oh, and nice motors. Could you not have steamed the 'box off first??Did the Lancia come from Munkie?

Posted

like the golf nice to see standard valver, i can see she has very good taste

Posted

Wouldn't say i'm a fan as they're a nightmare to work on, although they are a beautiful aricraft and are great to get on when you need to be somewhere fast.As for the box it was getting changed just after the pic for a better getrag unit.

Loving your fleet there! I've got a bit of desire for a Volvo 480. Same with the Mk2 GTi as well. Can't really understand why someone would abandon a late Mk2 Golf Gti really though.

+1. I am also feeling a bit of love for the 480 Turbo at the moment.

TBH he had some issues going on at home and just lost interest in it, either i got it or it was going to get binned so i gave him £100 and took it off his hands

Welcome to the forum!I was up in the Sunderland area a year or so ago and was lucky enough to see a brace of VC10's flying in formation at low level, they seemed to be zig-zagging up the valley I was in. Simply awesome to see.

Welcome - some great cars you have there!

[anorak mode]can I ask whereabouts in the country you are? Because that looks like the ECML in the background (or possibly the MML). If so I place you somewhere between N London & Cambs along that route, or if it's the MML, somewhere south of Bedford  [/anorak mode]

Of course it's very possible I'm miles off

Yeh your miles off  Its in warrington, where i collected it from

Well finally managed to get a week off work from fixing her majesty's tat and it gave me the perfect excuse to clean the beemer and get her to a fellow munich lovers meet. So off i set down the road with kraftwerk and falco on the stereo getting me in a nice Germanic mood

Was surrounded by modern munich stuff and felt a little out of place but still the old girl has never looked better in my time ive owned her, hope you like

Cheers mate i absolutely love her to bits, i do 820 miles a week in her and she has now covered a grand total of 191,000 miles.

I wouldn't part woth it for the world, despite consumables wearing out it has been utterly relaible, covered 30,000 miles in 2 years, god knows how much i have spent on fuel in that time

Will you be bringing it to an Autoshite meet ?

I can see alot of hard work, time and effort has been put into it

(AND MONEY ! )

Great outcome though
