nigel bickle Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Funny how neighbours get chatty when they want something...Someones who's failed to acknowledge my existance for over 4 years got all chatty this afternoon. He has just 'inherited' a 1986 Bluebird. Good condition.2 owners(-both family) and mileage guesstimate 40-50k. Sorn'd off road in a dry garage for 2 yrs (I think). I lent him a battery ''to get it started & free the brakes...''.The registration number he gave me doesn't come up on DVLA's site. He's getting paperwork & pics this weekend. Its in Brentwood-Essex.Anyone interested (-too modern for me)? I've no idea of value - market forces I reckon.
pandamonium Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I could be wrong, but wouldn't a 1986 be a Nissan(U11/T12/T72)?If it is indeed a late Datsun Bluebird 910, I'd be interested.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Yeah I suspect that will be the FWD one so rubbish 4 driftin. A great car though and mega popular with banger racers, even shitey ones make £250 on the bay no worries.
Ratdat Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Latest 910 i've seen was about '83 so I very much doubt it'll be one. It could be a U11 though which would be pretty rare. If you can let me know the reg number NB, I'll look it up in the big list of Nissan registrations I've got and find out what model it is etc.
pandamonium Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I already have a T72, so not interested in another FWD one. Not that I don't like them, just would like to try an earlier RWD one.

They do drive okay and seem to handle reasonably well but they're pretty slow and have the nastiest dash known to man. Funnily enough 1.6 ones seem to be more fun to drive than 1.8s. I would actually like a U11 as they are a proper solid car and Japanese built unlike T72's. I'd love a U11 turbo but the chances of that are about nil I'd think.
retrogeezer Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I like the look of the U11 over the T72 but can only say the T72 is a great car..
blackbird Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 It'll be a T12I think you all know how much I love the BLuebirds Someone form ZXOC had a U11 Turbo , gone now , getting very rare If it's an Turbo T12 (or even a SGX) I know some people who will be interested

It's a 1.8 registered 21-02-86.
peter9000uk Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Didn't realise those Turbos were so rare, I had rather a nice black one a couple of years ago. Ended up giving it to my brother in law who scrapped it because it failed the MOT on an exhaust. It had been a 1 owner (giffer) car before I got it complete with lacey seat covers. £175 off supermarket notice board.
