Heh, they have an FX4 too. That's a lot of money just to catch a cab!

We should establish an Autoshite Car Club. Top tier would be along the lines of a Chrysler 180 or a Tagora, mid-tier a white bumper Alpine or a Tredia, the bottom-tier would be Stanzas and ropey MK2 Cavaliers.

I have passed this loads of times. I am convinced I saw a Mk2 transit in there, but it could have been an Econoline.

 that can be taken more than one way.....

2 minutes round the corner from m'colleague Mr Leyland's gaff. They often have some pretty interesting stuff parked outside.

Theres stacks of those clubs arent there, you see em in C+SC and the other glossy classic mags. I cant see how they prosper TBH, although the clearly do. I imagine anyone who can afford to burn £4k a year renting classic motors for weekends here and there, could easily afford to buy one, even something swish like a ferrari or something. in fact I bet you would have to have pretty poor luck like an engine shitting itself or somethign to bust a £4k a year budget for owning one. Ist not like youre gonna cop a load of depreciation on an 80's Ferrari or porsche. Also if youre spending £4k a year to rent MGB's and so on you need serious help

I could tell you of many private people spending over £5k a year renting a car long term. Have a few customers doing exactly that - spending over £5k pa to drive a poverty spec Corsa / Picanto / Pixo. Keeps me in a job but I don't understand why they do it.

i like the idea of a autoshite car club :Dget to drive 70's daihatsu's or a next generation of futureshite a 'unbroken' prius.. guaranteed to make you scream

Got loads of money? Then why not join the CCC? You can drive a selection of vehicles including a Ferrari 360, Jag XK 150, Buick Riviera, Porsche 911T and, la creme de la creme, a Chrysler PT Cruiser. I kid ye not ...

If I was doing that and my wife saw it on the credit card statement I'd tell the wife it was for a yearly subscription to some brothel, far less embarassing IMHO.

All these clubs sound as dodgy as any Spanish timeshare scheme IMHO. You pay your money and then it disappears into some black hole never to be seen again as they all seem to go bust, even the one Damon Hill was involved it was very financially suspect.
