I've seen another car done this way in Japan. They used the foam to create the shape, layed GRP over it, smooothed it and then made moulds from which the final GRP body was made. TBH I'm not sure with this if they might not have just left the foam in there!It's hideous but it's an impressive feat to carve a full size car body like that!

Superb filler skillz. Don't like the style but I suppose you've got to admire the effort thats gone into it and the end result looks pretty good considering.
