I have just watched a news item.. A couple went for a drive in Argentina 10 years ago, they drove north and ended up in Alaska. Then zig-zagged back down the USA. They have just arrived in NZ via Australia, and will spend some time touring here. Left home with 1 child and now have 4, the last born 10 months ago in Aus.What are they travelling in....a 1928 Graham Paige saloon. Not much more detail than that yet, but they are selling the book to fund their travels, so I wil try to get a copy when they get to this town.P.S. Car repairs were not mentioned!

Not quite to the same standard but I was stuck at a toll booth near the French / Spanish border last year when a 1990 Donegal registered Transit ex ambulance rolled up behind me, I got chatting to the guy, he asked me where I was going and I told him Portugal, I asked him the same and told me he'd try the Atlas mountains before heading to Cape Town, he was in his 70's!A couple of years ago I was travelling north out of San Francisco when what should I pass but an old couple driving a RHD A Reg VW camper, didn't talk to them but they looked happy enough!

Couple I know buggered off on an old Kawasaki six or seven years ago. Get postcards occasionally from really weird places. They've not been back yet, but they've been right around Africa and South America on it.

Awesome. I'd love to do something like that but apart from the book thing, how do these folks fund their epic trips?
