BUT.. I've still never seen a mk4 fronted P100 from the factory

Theres a red P100 of the sierra type in my village, its had the same owner for ages now. There is 4 or 5 in Basingstoke, someone has made theirs look super smart by adding sierra alloys, bumpers and trim. Unless this was an official model?I havent seen a cortina P100 since I lived in Bexleyheath, the window cleaner had one.

Don't think they'll be Sierra alloys,P100s have 5 stud wheels.I seem to remember Rover SD1 alloys would fit a Cortina shaped P100.

Sierra P100's have the same pcd as Transits, Cortina P100's have a 5"pcd same as Rovers and Sherpas.. :)

Plenty easy to fit the Sierra hubs and suspension bits though? This one's got four-stud alloys on it, plus some other parts...

Fine at the front but no use at the back...the Sierras use an IRS were the P100 is a live axle on cart springs and Transit hubs, those P100 have the IRS grafted onto the chassis, I've driven one and it makes a huge difference in handling...

it seems a shame to put all that work in and keep it standard ride height although it is very arousing  is that a 2.9 24v Cosworth lump in there :?

I saw this one back in the summer, I think it was a South African one.

And have a Mk 5 Cortina front one as a bonus

First one is the Mk3 version, available only in SA, 1.6 x flow or 2.5/3.0 Essex V6the second one is the low roof model 80 version , I'll guess it has a V6 in it due to the side exit exhaust....Both beautiful, but the bigger doors on the Mk3 version do it for me 8)

The first one, according to DVLA, is a 1975 model with a 2500cc and the second one is still listed as a 1600cc.I did love the Mk 3 one, I thought it was a conversion until i read up about it.

Most of the Bakkies in SA are of the V6 variaty.....the later could be a 4 cylinder, but I cant see why they would keep it standard looking with the exhaust on that side....the standard Cortina/P100 system would take it out on the other side, and they are easy to get very cheap, so unlikely to be that I would have thought :?:

Ford Europe really missed a trick in the 70's by not selling a cortina pick-up. Toyota, Datsun, Mazda and Mitsubishi did rather well selling their pick ups to businesses. That mk3 cortina looks great, even without its coke bottle swage line.

I suspect that its quite a solid motor....wish I had the cash and the time as I would have it 8)

Dont hold me to this, but I heard Ford didnt want to sell the MK3 pickup here because they thought it might cheapen the brand.... but that seems a little odd considering they did sell the later ones here.
