More soldering iron coming up because the radio is acting the fool and needs a jolly good thrashing.

It's just getting a solid state upgrade because I'm fed up taking it in and out of the dash for stupid problems.

I'm just sitting here considering redoing the corner metal, making a former for it because I need to do the other side and that's a good way to make sure both sides are the same.

Also read back over a chunk of this thread. I forgot how much I put into the car already. It's changed a fair bit.

I'll get it done. I got some enthusiasm back for the project now.

That I don't know. I'm quite taken by the deep red.

looking forward to seeing more on this if nothing else because over the last few months I have binged watched a fair amount of Dead Dodge Garage and I now know far too much about Various late 1950's-1970's Chrysler, so it will be interesting to see this project in that new light if that makes sense :) (fun-fact I derailed one of his live streams to talk just about Grummin LLV's he Loved* that  )

Not Mazda red, no. Too damn modern. Just a deep burgundy.

At least mine sounds like that. Kinda.

The wheels are fugly. Boomer fugly.

Yeah. I have been following along with a few threads on DDG. Perky is a fun one.

Some days this car does redeem itself.

A rusty hole in the window surround that I need to patch. However in the way is the rusty remains of a trim clip.

Which unscrewed cleanly without a fight.

The rest along the top were rusted to the point the heads were just a blob of rust. They were all convinced to unscrew with hammer and chisel.

It's also rusted in the stupidest places, like in the middle at the top.

Is that the colour you are going for ?

Ish. That's just the color of the spray can I had to hand though.

Been tweaking the new corner lip. Happy with that profile. There's a few holes in the skin behind that need fixing before that can go in though.

That's just a random can of Rust-Oleum I bought way back to see if I liked red or green on the car better. Nightfire is more yellow, a better color.

Cut the rust in the pillar and inner edge back to good metal. Shaped up and welded in a patch to the hole on the curved section.

A lot of fiddle faddle for very little progress.
