My friend has a VW LT which is based on a Sprinter but with a VW engine, it doesn't seem to be built very well and the Mercedes gearbox is atrocious - 1st and reverse gear graunch, he often has to select reverse with the engine off. It's only done about 40k. It does drive nicely though, I'll give it that.

Yep, definitely find the sprinter box very hard to use smoothly, also found the pedals very awkward to use, on long journeys my right foot aches like a bitch holding the accelarator down, think its because they are designed to be left hand drive so the uk versions have the pedals offset so much
