Does anyone have any experience of these things? I know they're big, ugly and probably qualify for shite status being Korean, but are they any good? I appear to have won one on eBay, the price seems worryingly cheap for an MoT'd 51-plate MPV - does everyone else know something I don't? (I'm not going to post a pic as doing so before the purchase is complete seems to put something of a jinx on my eBay purchases. I was wrong about the seller of the Corolla, he didn't make any excuses - I haven't heard a peep from him at all, he's not responded to any of my emails. I also found out that he'd listed the car twice - the other listing made more than the one I bid on. I feel a big fat NEG coming on. )

zero rated ebayer. Twat! Email ebay saying you are concerned as you won the auction but he's listed it and sold it again two days later and isnt responding to mailsThey'll give him grief, while you serve up a hearty steaming pile of NEG as his very first feedback. Revenge is sweet.

Don't know much about them, other than the cheapness. I guess most really cheap ones are intergalactic-mileage ex-minicabs... any pics/more details etc?On the upside they are not as fugly as a Kia Sedona... though a Sedona has sliding doors, which all good mpv's should have, maybe that is why Tragic's are so cheap...

Had one as a hire car for a trip down to Cornwall, 5 up along with surfing and camping gear, it coped pretty well, seemed a little underpowered - was a 2.0GSi model, but was capacious and comfortable enough.

Is it a pez or a diesel? I am sure either these or the Sedona have got Rover KV6 engines or a dimnsionally accurate replica of em (including wobbly cylinder heads)

Never owned one, never been in one. Bloke at work swears by them though and says brilliant value for money.

According to wikipedia (so probably untrue), the 'big' engine in a Trajet is a 2.7 v6, and the sedona had a 2.5 (or a 15mpg 3.5 in the US!)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trajethttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kia_CarnivalSo that makes nothing clearer at all.

It's a petrol (2.0 GSi manual). It's done 74K, so presumably not an ex-minicab. I'll post pics if & when I pick it up. I'm not expecting it to be a ball of fire or particularly economical (they're 133bhp according to Wikipedia) but its size should make it useful as a van when I need to lug stuff about. And modern Korean stuff is usually pretty well made.

A friend of mine got one very cheap a while ago, 2.0 GSi petrol. 7 years old, £250 with 7/8 months test IIRC. Glacially slow, handles like a boat, drinks like George Best, but comfy and not unpleasant. GR8 value for money. It was a bit scuffed here and there, but a morning with the full Meguiars treatment improved it immensely.

Bloody hell, £250? That is ridiculously cheap. Where did he pick that up from? Mine's a bit more than that, unfortunately... :?

Trade disposal as far as I remember. It really did look like a pile of shit at first glance, hence no other interest in it. Further investigation revealed a fairly sound motor that needed a damn good clean.

I always refer to them as Tragics. Yes, my wit really has no end............
